Who Can Join?
The Resource Council / LEPC is open to any organization that has an interest in public safety and hazardous materials safety in our community. Members include local businesses that use, manufacture, distribute, and/or transport hazardous materials in our community along with government response organizations and non-government emergency responders.
Who Benefits from the Council?
Members benefit from the Council by having quick access to a wide variety of equipment and expertise regarding hazardous materials; however, the true beneficiaries are the citizens of Cobb County. Having the Council network resources prior to an incident places Haz-Mat responders in a proactive position to handle a hazardous materials incident more quickly and efficiently. The progressive approach significantly reduces the possibility for loss of life or damage to the environment during an incident.
